Quick University Meals to Cook for Students

21 April 2022

Napoleon famously said that an army marches on its stomach, and the same is true for students!

A grumbling stomach is of no use to you if you’re trying to study effectively.

Here are seven easy student recipes to work up an appetite for success!

Jacket Potatoes

The good old jacket potato has long been a staple of the student diet and with good reason! It’s a comfort food that will definitely keep your belly full while studying.

All you have to do is prepare the skin by rubbing in some olive oil with salt and black pepper and then stick it in the oven for about 90 minutes. Once it’s cooled, cut through the length of it and add in butter to melt into the potato.

You can add any topping you like – baked beans, tuna, grated cheese, chilli. If you prefer, you can cook the spud in a microwave for about seven minutes. Just make sure you prick the skin first so it doesn’t explode and leave bits everywhere!

A super quick and easy dish is the trusty omelette. You just need one or two eggs mixed together with milk and a pinch of salt. Pour the mixture into a frying pan and once it starts to solidify you fold it in half. Omelettes are really versatile. You can add cheese, ham, mushrooms, tomatoes – anything really!

Home-Made Burgers

Most people are fans of a juicy burger, and what’s even better is that they’re easy to make!

Grab a pack of fresh mince, mould it into patty shapes and add in some onions for extra flavour.

Pop the patties under the grill and wait for that mouthwatering smell to call your name!
