Whether it’s midnight munchies or revision power food, takeaways are a quick and easy option to satisfy your hunger needs. So, where’s your go to student takeaway in Edinburgh?

With such a huge selection, we have narrowed down our top 5 favourite student takeaways in Edinburgh – a combination of both health and taste, check out our recommendations below (including some handy student discounts and tips).

 

 

Hula Juice Bar

Good for the body, good for the soul!

From Acai bowls to their famous hangover cure smoothies, Hula Juice Bar is hugely popular for its healthy, soul food.

Hula’s friendly staff will help create the ultimate fresh smoothie (and maybe add a ginger shot – if you fancy it) to give you that wake me up feeling. Not stopping there, they also do breakfast, lunch bowls and wraps – a great way to keep you fueled for those long study days.

It’s good to support local small businesses, something we are passionate about at Novel!

piecebox is a café serving all day breakfast, brunch, coffee and baked goods. From vegan pancakes to mac n cheese, there’s something for everyone – and even better it’s just a short 5-minute walk from our Silk Mill building, a perfect excuse for a quick stroll to grab your takeaway, then enjoy it in one of our many amenity spaces.

Student tip: Buy homemade ready meals for £5 including veggie chilli + rice, chicken salad plus more, view them here. Also they are supplied fresh or frozen.

Soul Sushi

Soul Sushi has some of the best, affordable and fresh sushi platters in Edinburgh and since starting out they have won Scotland’s South East takeaway of the year and become one of Scotland’s most highly rated takeaways.

Not a fan of sushi? Don’t worry, they also serve noddle and rice dishes such as Katsu Curry and Poke Bowls, ‘grab and go’ boxes, salads and soups – doesn’t this sound like a convenient takeaway?!

Student tip: Every evening 30 minutes before closing they reduce all their remaining sushi and salads to half price – set your reminder now!

Student tip: Add warm crispy churros with chocolate dipping sauce and a starter for under £10.

With perfect buns and plenty of sides, BRGR is a perfect quick and easy fast-food fix. Want to add a little Scottish twist to your burger? Bring on the haggis toppings!

Student tip: Hot drinks £1, burgers £4 Monday-Friday and £5 Saturday to Sunday – treat yourself!
